This project consists of the creation of tree book covers for the Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote. The covers are first, typographic, the second would be made of physical material, and the third one would be one of my choice.
Typography Book Cover:

This represents the theme of madness and insanity in the novel Don Quixote. Don Quixote is considered insane because he sees in his imagination things he did not see and what does not exist. For example, in his illusions he used to fight with “giants“ which in reality were windmills. The big red X on this cover represents the windmills he saw as giants.
Physical Material Book Cover:

This is the physical elements book cover. The book tittle and author's name are made out of shaving cream. This represents Don Quixote’s imagination. This is another theme in this story. In many instances when Quixote saw thick clouds of dust, he thought they were a great army marching towards him. I wanted to form clouds with Don Quixote’s name to represent this theme and I think it turned out really good.
Designer’s Choice Book Cover:

This is the third book cover - designer's choice. Don Quixote lived in a village of La Mancha, Spain. The story takes place in different places in Spain and the color of the dirt on this book cover represents the places where Quixote traveled.
